LPL Fourth Grade Phonics and Spelling Lesson Plans are based on the phonics program, Spell to Write and Read (SWR) by Wanda Sanseri. SWR is a multi-sensory approach that allows children to write and spell their way into reading. The program is thorough, systematic, logical, and economical. Your child will delve deeper into the wonderful world of the English language by learning or reviewing all 70 basic phonograms, symbols that represent particular sounds in the English language. Similarly, your student will continue to memorize all the 29 spelling rules, which will assist him for years to come. He will blend phonograms and apply rules, enabling him to successfully write and read over 650 spelling words and other printed material. These mental exercises will continue the process of laying a solid spelling foundation for your child.

Because we understand learning a new phonics program coupled with lesson plan writing can be overwhelming, LPL have formulated 36 weeks of easy-to-follow lesson plans for fourth grade. Included with the LPL Fourth Grade Phonics and Spelling Lesson Plans is a Teacher Reference Book, Assessment Book, spelling test paper, dictation paper, and a set of cursive uppercase and lowercase alphabet cards for your wall.
